Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority is requesting separate sealed proposals for the furnishing of all labor, materials, equipment and services for the CONCOURSE FASCIA AND EXTERIOR RENOVATIONS project at Huntsville International Airport, located in Huntsville, Alabama. Bids will be received by the Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority, at the Engineering and Facilities Office, 104 Facility Way, Huntsville Alabama 35824 until 2:00 p.m. CST, May 23, 2019, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. All bids must be sealed and marked in the lower left-hand corner “Sealed Bid – HMCAA “CONCOURSE FASCIA AND EXTERIOR RENOVATIONS” with the opening time and date. Bidder must be an Alabama General Contractor licensed by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors for Alabama pursuant to Alabama Code Section 34-8-1, et seq. Only bids of such Contractors who are licensed prior to the date of bid opening will be considered. Bidder must place his/her current license number on the outside of his/her sealed bid or otherwise Bidder’s bid shall be rejected. Any bid received after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids will be returned to the bidder unopened. Pre- qualification of bidders is not required. The Plans and Contract Documents may be examined at the following locations:

For bidding purposes, Plans, Specifications and Contract Documents may be obtained from Datatek Reprographics (Huntsville, AL) The cost per set of bid documents (Plans, Specifications, and Contract Documents) is $100.00. Plan Deposit is subject to the following conditions: Refund of deposit is limited to two (2) sets for each general contractor and one (1) set for each subcontractor or material supplier. Deposits will be refunded, if applicable, if drawings, specifications, and addenda are returned in good condition within ten (10) days following the public opening of the bids. Bidders must pay any necessary mailing charges. Checks should be made payable to Engineering Design Technologies, Inc. Any and all questions related to the contract documents shall be directed to Engineering Design Technologies, Inc., in writing at the aforementioned address.
The CONCOURSE FASCIA AND EXTERIOR RENOVATIONS project base bid will consist of: The removal of existing exterior wall panels and sheathing down to existing wall structure along with insulation and attaching new exterior rainscreen system wall panels in its place. All existing metal fascia panels to be removed and replace to match existing. All existing metal soffit panels to be removed and replaced with new to match existing. Install new stainless-steel gutters fully welded at all seams and reattached to existing downspouts. All existing metal roofing and accessories to be removed and replaced with new to match existing. Any damaged roof decking will need to be replaced at this time. All exterior concrete panel walls, cmu walls, doors, door frames, window frames, bollards, concrete curbing, handrails to be painted to match existing colors. All the existing apron poles and lighting to be removed and replaced with new poles and LED lighting.
There is an add alternate #1 in construction documents that consists of: Operations level ceiling grid and tile, lights and surface mounted lights to be removed and install new ceiling grid and tiles and new LED lighting in new grid and at surface mounted locations.
There is an add alternate #2 in construction documents that consists of: New lighting controls.
There will be a pre-bid conference held at 10:00 a.m. CST, May 14, 2019 in the Engineering & Facilities Office at 104 Facility Way, Huntsville Alabama 35824. Attendance at the meeting is highly recommended for prime contractors. Meeting is also recommended for all major sub-contractors. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total contract amount, as shown on the schedule of prices, which shall be made payable to Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority and shall be subject to the conditions set forth in the bid documents. A performance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price and a labor and material payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price will be required.
This project is anticipated to be financed through a grant from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and will be subject to all requirements of the FAA as of the time the contract is awarded, including the federally required contract clauses to be made part of the contract documents for the Project. Contractors and subcontractors working on this Project will be required to use E-Verify to electronically verify the employment eligibility of their employees. Award is contingent upon the availability of Federal funds. This Project is also subject to compliance with the Alabama Immigration Act. The Huntsville-Madison County Airport Authority reserves the right to waive any informalities, technicalities or irregularities in the bids received, to reject any or all bids, and to enter into negotiations with the lowest responsive bidder. Attention of bidders is particularly called to the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration, which pertain to this project, and to the conditions of employment to be observed and minimum wage rates to be paid under the Contract. No bidder may withdraw his bid within 90 days after the actual date of bid opening.
