History

The Port of Huntsville is celebrating 50 years of being in its current location.

It first opened to the public on Sunday, Oct. 29, 1967. What use to be miles and miles of cotton fields has transformed into an economic development engine for the Tennessee Valley Region. With nearly 7,000 acres of land, the Port of Huntsville today is comprised of Huntsville International Airport (HSV), International Intermodal CenterĀ  (Air Cargo and Rail Cargo), and Jetplex Industrial Park.
