Final Days of USA Today Best Small Airport Vote *HSV currently in 2nd place*

January 28, 2021

Huntsville International Airport has once again been nominated by a panel of travel experts as one of USA Today’s Best Small Airports. (HSV is the only airport in the state of Alabama that was nominated.) HSV was in second place today when the leaderboard went dark.  That’s the same place that the airport was in last year with only 6 days remaining in the contest.

“Last year our community and North Alabama came together and voted so much in the final days that we moved into the #1 spot”, said Jana Kuner, Huntsville International Airport PR Manager.  “All of the credit goes to the people in our region who refuse to lose and we know that they will come together and vote in this same tremendous way again.”

HSV encourages everyone to take time to vote once per day because being named #1 Small Airport in the U.S. grabs the attention of the airlines that Huntsville International Airport is working to bring to the market.  When an airport has more routes and carriers that increases competition and ultimately reduces fares.  That means that winning this contest can have an impact on each passenger’s pocket book.

You can vote once per day from each of your devices and also help by sharing the contest with family and friends. It has been a hard year for travel and tourism so a win would make a big difference. Voting continues now through 12:00pm eastern on Monday, February 1 and a winner will be announced on February 12.

Note from USA Today10Best Website: Someday, we’ll all be ready to pack our suitcases again and head out on our next adventures. In the meantime, we’ll keep supporting the places that inspire us. Contact individual airports for the latest updates.  While giant airports like JFK, LAX and Chicago O’Hare often dominate the travel scene due to the sheer number of passengers who pass through them each day, the United States is home to many smaller, friendlier airports that take some of the headache out of travel. The15 airports nominated serve fewer than 10 million passengers each year, yet excel with their commercial flight offerings, easy access and amenities. The 10 winning airports, determined by your vote, will be announced on Friday, February 12.
