The Department of Public Safety at the Port of Huntsville (POH) strives to provide world-class police, fire and first response EMS services and protection to the Port of Huntsville community. Those we serve include passengers and visitors to Huntsville International Airport (HSV), those doing business at the International Intermodal Center and Jetplex Industrial Park, and the many tenants and employees involved on the Port of Huntsville campus every day.
Originally organized as the airport police, the POH Department of Public Safety was formed in 1996. This transformed our agency into the only one in the State of Alabama that fully cross trains sworn members as both certified police officers and career firefighters.
It is our belief that honesty, excellent public service and effective community partnerships are the cornerstones of a professional public safety organization.

Accident reports may be requested by calling 256-258-1240. You will need to provide the following information when you request a copy:.
- Valid ID
- Accident report number
- Date and location of the incident
- If your accident was investigated by the City of Huntsville Police Department, call (256) 427-7020.
- If your accident was investigated by the Alabama State Troopers, call (256) 539-0681.
Follow the instructions on your citation. For additional information, please contact the Huntsville Municipal Court at (256) 427-7810.

Crime tips may be reported to the Airport Communications Center at (256) 461-1116. You are not required to give your name. Tips may also be submitted by email to email@example.com. Do not use email to report emergencies.

Call the Airport Communications Center at (256) 461-1116 to confirm your vehicle was towed. They will provide guidance on which wrecker service impounded your vehicle and provide a contact number for all impound information.

Complaints: The Port of Huntsville Public Safety Department accepts all complaints alleging an act or acts that, if proven true, would be a violation of departmental regulations, procedures, rules or a violation of any applicable state law or court decisions. Any person who is the affected party and believes the law or department policy has been violated may file a complaint. Complaints will be forwarded to the Chief of Public Safety for initiation of a professional standards review. Maintaining public confidence demands that the department investigate and properly adjudicate complaints against its employees.
